The Women's Services Inc. Annual Golf Classic

Since its inception in 1985, this event has raised an average of $20,000 each year for the agency. The outing is held at the Meadville Country Club the first Wednesday in June, with room for thirty teams of four players each. Play is in the form of a scramble with a shotgun start at one o'clock, culminating with dinner at the club around six. The event is coordinated by a dedicated Golf Committee, who work diligently to secure sponsors and teams.

The Moveable Feast

Started in 2006, this fundraiser couples good fellowship and awareness through a progressive dinner. The evening begins with all guests assembling at one location for appetizers and cocktails, after which everyone disperses to different houses around town for a very special, elegant dinner. The evening is then rounded out another location where everyone meets for dessert. Please contact the business office for information on being a host for this event.

Christmas Wreaths

Celebrate the holidays with Women's Services Inc. by purchasing a Christmas wreath, swag, or archway. These beautiful decorations are hand made locally at the Green Twig Nursery in McKean, PA and are available from September through October, with delivery the first week in December. They are remarkably well-made, and have been known to keep their color and fragrance all the way to Easter! Prices vary from year to year, so call for current information.

Awareness Months

Women's Services Inc. recognizes April as Sexual Violence Awareness Month, and October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month with events that promote awareness of these issues. Past events have included Take Back the Night Rallies, Chalk Walks, candle light vigils, concerts, and displays. Community participation in these events is critical in ending these forms of violence; watch your local paper for a listing of events.
